Multiple Cafes have been inspired by the Brisbane Cafe that raised $3k to feed 900 people in need, last year
Pauline, the manager of Fibonacci Cafe, Raymond Terrace is reaching out to those that are experiencing hardship and misfortune due to COVID in the hope of helping alleviate some stress.
“We aim to serve our community with cooked meals and hope to put smiles back on peoples faces.” -Pauline Daniel, Manager of Fibonacci Coffee, Raymond Terrace
Fibonacci Raymond Terrace is one of 3 Cafes that have set up a GoFundMe campaign, and are asking for your generosity to donate to our cause to help us help others. From as little as $5, you can provide someone with a healthy, substantial meal. $30 will provide food for a family of 4 for a whole day. All donations will go towards helping the less fortunate. Your colleagues, neighbours or friends may be suffering in lockdown, all alone. This is our chance to give back to the community that is always giving to us. For every dollar raised, we -as a small business, will also donate $1 in the form of food. Your charitable contribution will also help to keep our staff employed during these tough times whilst restrictions are in place.
“Last year we raised over $3,000 in my local community and I am hoping Raymond Terrace will support their community too”- Priscilla, manager of Jabiru CBD & Express
Priscilla Williams helped feed over 900 people in need within her community and helped retain her staff to continue supporting their families. She also started a pen pal initiative to help support the elderly who were struggling with feeling isolated and alone. Once the lockdown restrictions lifted, Priscilla then held an event at her Cafe allowing the elderly to finally meet the individuals they had been communicating with in person.
”We are all very inspired by her kindness and bravery during a particularly challenging time. The pen pal initiative really shows how involved Priscilla is with her community. We have seen time and time again that good intentions always pay off in one way or another.” - Mariah Stock, marketing manager of Independent Cafes.
